Job Description

This is a Harrisburg-based role for a Pricing Manager.  D&H is looking for a self-motivated individual who is analytical, technically inclined, detail-oriented, visually focused, and a self-learner.  The Pricing Manager will be responsible for working with Sales, VM Directors and Vendor Business Managers along with others on the Pricing team. They should also:

  • Be able to work effectively with Sales and Vendor leaders on pricing strategies that maximize D&H profitability.
  • Work with Sales and Vendor leaders on dissecting deals that have already billed out to understand the rationale behind lower margin sales.
  • Have an understanding of financial modeling, have excellent analytical skills, and the ability to identify solutions to complex pricing problems.

 Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Optimizing and monitoring front-end margins and finding ways to increase profitability.
  • Engage with Sales, conduct routine account audits by researching the current pricing model and programs and reviewing for deficiencies and conflicts to resolve. 
  • Engage with vendor teams to review back-end vendor rebate programs and ensure that pricing strategies are aligned to maximize rebate attainment. 
  • Review vendor and customer profitability data and make recommendations for profitability improvements.
  • Work with FP&A team to roll out necessary reporting to manage margins.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to effectively communicate pricing rationale and communicate changes in pricing strategies.
  • Effectively interact with leaders across the company.
  • Strong critical thinking skills in order to develop data and then react to the results.
  • Ability to stay focused and complete projects within defined time frame with minimal oversight.
  • Above average understanding of Office applications, especially Excel, due to the amount of analysis/reporting required.
  • Be familiar with the various applications that Sales uses on a daily basis.
  • Ability to multi-task, and manage a number of priorities effectively.
  • Experience with Cognos a plus.
