We are looking for an Outbound Operations Manager to support our Distribution Facility at 1455 Remington Blvd, Bolingbrook

 

Responsibilities:

  • To provide leadership, management, and effective communication to both customers and employees, while meeting operational and financial objectives.
  • Maintains shipping, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Complies with federal, state and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements by enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Safeguards warehouse operation and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Controls inventory accuracy by conducting physical counts; reconciling with WMS.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Manages warehouse staff by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
  • Ability to interact and build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organizing, prioritizing, multi-tasking, product management and problem-solving skills with a strong sense of urgency.
  • A hands-on management approach that encourages change and creative problem solving.

As a Manager, you are the overseer of all tasks that generate from your own departments (Parcel, Quality Control, LTL and 3rd Shift). You must be able to motivate your team, evaluate their results and coach through deficiencies that may present themselves. You must project a professional company image through face to face, phone and email interaction. Through on-the-job training, you must be able to build an understanding of facility and department goals, and the interaction between your department with other departments, not only in the facility, but within the entire organization. You must have the communication and interpersonal skills necessary to build a strong team. We are seeking candidates who are self-motivated, driven to succeed, and enthusiastic about learning and growing with an industry leader.

 

Other requirements include:

  • 5-10 years in a Leadership capacity with experience in:
  • Supervision and Development of Team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Safety Management
  • Developing Standards
  • Managing Processes
  • Inventory Control knowledge
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Customer Relations
  • Reporting Skills
  • Knowledge of WMS systems
  • Knowledge of Labor Management Systems
  • Knowledge of Lean
