We are looking for System Administrator to support our IT Operations Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, update, tune, diagnose, and babysit both internal and third-party applications.
  • Work with vendor technicians to correct problems
  • Establish Best Practices for keeping applications running.
  • Perform day-to-day Administrative tasks
  • Ensure complete ownership (technical and functional) of the application systems in scope. This requires the ability to proactively gain technical expertise/mastery of the systems through self-education, creativity, and experimentation.
  • Install new and upgrade existing application servers in accordance with IT standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Work closely with other team members, development teams and application/release management to deploy, or assist with deployment of, application upgrades, patches, and/or fixes.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for installation, upgrades and configuration of application systems.
  • Contribute to and maintain configuration standards.
  • Provide technical training to team members and ensure documentation is created and updated regularly.
  • Research and recommend innovative and/or automated approaches for administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage internal resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Perform tuning and optimization, using native and 3rd party monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Provide support per request from user community to investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to communicate industry best practices and apply a practical implementation to the environments.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and supportive relationships with team members and users.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call responsibilities and maintenance window activities.
  • Implement operational automation using SSIS, T-SQL and OS level scripts.
  • Implement and maintain application security.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong problem solving and/or analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good knowledge and demonstrative troubleshooting ability on connectivity problems.
  • Requires knowledge of Windows 2003/2008/2012 servers
  • Demonstrates the ability to be a subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining and administrating complex applications.
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical support experience.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users, managers, technical staff, and subject matter experts to build consensus.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, identify creative solutions, and develop new strategies and procedures when needed.
  • Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to solve complex problems and improve quality and service.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work processes in a timely fashion.
  • Experience with assigned application / technology (i.e. Dynamics AX, CRM, SCOM, ActiveBatch, SharePoint), or similar.
  • Experience with User and Security Administration
  • Experience in PowerShell or VBscript a plus.
